Windows Opening By Themselves

Hi everyone,

I have a 2014 M235i and in the last week I've found the car in the morning locked but with both windows fully down twice. I unlocked the car, wound the windows back up and relocked. The next morning it's happened again. Has this happened to anyone else? It was raining last night so not ideal 😕

Hi Ritch....welcome to the Club

I have found this on Honda models with keyless fob and turned out to be the buttons being pressed when in trouser pocket, for example.

Also, with auto-window-drop it may be worth disabling this function in the vehicle settings, at least the windows will stay up.

Maybe also worth considering a Faraday pouch to see if it is the key fob that is triggering the unlocking...remember, you may have two keys.

I think Trevor may be right. I went to a meeting and on returning to my car found the boot open! This happened a couple of times before I changed the pocket in which I kept the fob and it hasn't happened since.

A Faraday pouch is ideal in ensuring the key fob doesn't transmit a signal once you have walked away from it....cheap to buy but bear in mind it won't be secure unless it is in the pouch and sealed (acting as a Faraday cage).
