Hi everyone

A little advice needed please. My rear alloy has cracked and I've been advised to either drop the wheels down a size or put a higher tyre on.

I'm currently running 245/40r19 runflats and these are standard fit on the car.

I really don't want to drop down to 17" alloys as the 19s are gorgeous. So can I go up a tyre size? I've been told that i can increase quite a bit if I use a spacer?

Doesn't mean an awful lot to me I'm afraid 😞

Hi Nick

I would be tempted to agree with the suggestion of a larger tyre profile as it is the first point of shock absorbance and the higher the profile the smoother the ride.

Maybe best to keep the 19" rims, fit spacers and go higher profile (e.g. 45 or 50 profile) and not bother with runflat feature.

Let us know how you get on with it all

Cheers,  Trevor
