(Re) New member - Oxon
Was officially new here back in 2018... had been active in various car forums over the years. Only briefly had a Beemer then so wasn't around much, loggeed in a couple of times. Have tried the Facebook groups but they just don't seem the same, not the same level of interaction compared to these old bulletin board type Forums. Anyway, am now currently sat with 3 Beemers so figured be worth logging back in here. Have a 2015 4 series 420d Coupe Lux/Sport (Not the MSport) - which I love (dont need any comments about under-powered, it does just fine 😁) Also a 2016 5 series 520d Touring. Both of these I am keeping. My old 520d Touring, is a 2008 and is currently sitting with just under 300,000 miles on it and still going - although currently SORN and will be getting shot of it one way or another as soon as I get round to it. -

Engine cut out while driving
Morning Stu Thanks for the offer of whip round 🤣 I am sure we will get used to eating the horses hay and dog biscuits 🤣 The fault is weird engine just shuts down, remove key replace key press start and it fires up first time and runs smoothly on all 6 get in and drive it and sometimes it behaves and another it cut out 4 times in a mile, no faults recorded. Had me scratching my head and reading a lot I will keep you updated once all the bits arrive Dave -

Bonnet hinges
Morning Barry Welcome to the Forum Take a look at www.realoem.com put the last 7 digits of the cars Vin into the search box it will bring up your model then search the body section. You should find all the information you need you should find exploded drawings that indicate where stuff goes and the part numbers which will help in your search. the bonnet I believe is just mechanical alignment and hinges with gas strut assistance. Once you have the information Google BMW Specialist Recyclers/Dismantlers and you should then be able to contact them to see who has what you need Good Luck with the Project let us know how you get on Dave- 1
