The BMW 3 series 2008 is not compatible with Android system nor does it support to connect to an Android mobile phone. This sucks. It seems the only way is to upgrade it to an aftermarket Android radio, right? Anyone has any good suggestions?
My main requirements are to download Android apps such as Spotify, Amazon Prime video, Google Maps and so on.

Morning Vesco

I have read somewhere that for the I drive units you can add a unit by Nav Tool that allows either Android phone mirroring or Apple car play to be used/controlled by the in car I drive controller. From what I read it is all plug and play

Search Nav tool see what you get

Good Luck

Hi, Vesco, all you need to do is choose the right Android auto head unit for you to upgrade your car. Nowdays, we have many options for a auto head unit. A fe features that you can expect include hands-free calls, improved Music and radio options, and access to a wide range of apps. You don't need to spend huge sums of money buying a unit from Pioneer or Sony. Check forums or google, you will get more detauls about some of the top products on the market. I incline to XTRONS, XTRONS is one of the most well-known brands in the car entertainment systems, they always have some sleek and stylish units with afforable price. I had one from XTRONS 1 year ago, it slot in nicely in my car's snter console, and the hard buttons are very useful to make adjustment, it supports both Android auto and Apple Car Play, and there are all the USB and Bluetooth connectivity features that you would expect, the 4GB RAM is enough for the apps . Ultimately, it is a great choice.  The price is a bit higher compared to some otehr Chinese brands, but i decided to get XTRONS as the brand is worth paying extra for.

Hi Brendan

I don't think the aftermarket head units work with I drive so you loose those functions including some of the OBC functions. Or am I wrong?
