My 2015 BMW 535i xDrive has an oil leak (see enclose picture) where the rubber portion on the oil line meets the metal portion of the line on the bottom after the 180-degree bend. This oil line runs in front of the bottom of the engine. I had to remove one of the under covers to see it. The last seven characters on my VIN are D548041. I have two questions.

I am having trouble identifying the replacement part number to order the oil line. I have been to OE parts sites and realoem.com and am having trouble finding an oil line that look like this one with a 180 bend. I haven’t removed enough to clearly see where the two connections go, but from feeling they appear to connect to the engine and something in front (possibly the oil cooler). I’ll probably be better able to identify the line after I remove it, but I wanted to get a head start on ordering the replacement line.
What do you suggest as the best way to access and disconnect the two oil line connections? Should I come in from the top or the bottom?

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris

Welcome

Glad you have the little devil identified. When buying take care as the return pipe is different for Hydro Power Steering and Dynamic Power Steering

Good Luck
