Hi

I have a bmw 320d 2002 engine was done recently  but the grey smoke still coming also rattling when idling.

What could be the problem  and how to fix it. The turbo was changed as well

Rattling could be the timing chain or incorrectly set valve clearances. Either the engine has been rebuilt badly, or it hasn't been rebuilt at all. I'd find a BMW specialist who could give the car a once over. You don't have to have them fix whatever is wrong. You can choose where you go.

ANY smoke from tail pipe is an automatic MOT failure.

Welcome to the Forum Thabani

With Richard here, if the engine has been "done" recently whoever did it should be sorting it as it doesn't sound as though they have done it properly
