hi everyone

new to this forum just hoping some of the bimmer guys can help me out

I’ve recently acquired a bmw e36 320 i coupe it was my dads old one which he’s looked after pretty much my lifetime and i can’t just let it go to the scrappers that easy!

ive got a few problems to sort out before I get her back on the road again

I have a rust issue around the windscreen which is letting in water and over the years gotten worse and worse I’m just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how they went about it ? I’ve had a quote for someone to come and take the windscreen out and put it back in once  I’ve had the work done

it’s also got rust spots on the offside rear trailing arm cup/bracket which I’ve seen people fix before but again I’d like to know how people have fixed it. I’ve seen there’s things on on the market which is like a repair plate and they also sell a reinforcement plate which I want to get both sides done at the same time

I also have a near side wing I need to replace because it’s rotten if anyone has one?

I’m wanting to replace all the window sunroof and door seals whilst I’m at it too if anyone can point me in the right direction to get a full kit?

I’ve pulled all the interior out and checked everywhere to find anymore rust but it’s looking good everywhere else

any help would be appreciated thanks

Morning Ross

Rust around the screen can only be sorted with the screen removed, rust and paint repairs will be your biggest job/cost and you seem to be on top of that.

For other spares and replacement parts use www.realoem.com it is a BMW online parts list put your Vin in the search box and it will bring up your model, then search the relevant sections. Once you have the part number or numbers you can search for the best cost/supply route, don't dismiss BMW they do offer some good discounts for the older models.

Good luck with the restoration

Dave
