BMW M135i 2020 Ticking / Rattling noise when accelerating
Hey mate, Widely known issue that these engines have wastegate actuator issues. There’s been a “fix” coming from BMW for 2 years according to some UK forums. Some users have pushed BMW directly for a fix and had replacement drive belts, tensioners and cover fitted to snug up the area. It has no impact on performance, it’s just annoying. Here’s a thread for more: https://www.babybmw.net/threads/ticking-rattle-on-acceleration.143097/ -

Dealership error on 320i
I have 2 BMWs, an 88 e30 and my 320i, I do all the maintenance on the e30 but with the 320i I take it to the dealership, I took it in Monday for an oil change that took them 6 hours, I left without issue, then by Thursday my car alerted me to there being barely the min oil in my car, I was conveniently 5 minutes from the dealership so I dropped it off pretty !Removed!. I knew something was wrong when I noticed it struggling performance wise and then it alerted me. My concern is the likely hood of damage this may of caused and who’s going to pay for that. My other concern is what type of damage could I be looking at, I’ll be honest I can understand the basics but anything extensive imma be a fish out of water. The car measures the oil with the computer and I ran that measurement a few times in disbelief, it doesn’t come with a dipstick but the dealership checked it with a dipstick they had (apparently) and confirmed it literally almost didn’t have anything. I can’t imagine a dealership forgetting to put oil back into a car, they have it today and haven’t called me to explain what happened, they only gave me theories such as oh they may of not filled it up all the way or they may of left something loose and it leaked out. -

E38 735i Engine thermostat
Hello I am back in this post with a new question I have removed the 105C Thermostat and fitted a 88C thermostat. The engine worked well all summer. I parked it and did not used it until now. Last week I started the car and I almost immediately got the temperature dial on the cluster going from blue to red and back again. Once the car is warm this the water temperature dial is stabilized. I initially thought that I have a faulty temperature sensor, failed sensor giving infinity across the resistance load. I have been looking for a water temperature sensor without any luck, my car is a 1996 model and can not find it on the spare parts list. I’m suspecting that the problem may be a result of the electric resistance on the water thermostat being removed. Does anyone having similar problems? -

BMW 318i boot locked can’t get into
Not sure what you have done or are asking here Donald First the Boot/Trunk can be opened manually using the Master Key. The Battery is in the Trunk/Boot so Neg terminal off first. If you realeased the Red Lead under the Hood/Bonnet you only isolated part of the cars electrical system? (This is also the Charging Point so if charging the battery this is where to connect) Sensors, before changing them make sure they actually need changing test them (Google for parameters) also check whether they need coding to the car to ensure they are going to work correctly. Check all fuses are intact if all OK then a Diagnostic scan should show where the Issues are Dave- bmw

FITTING A SCORPION ALARM AND IMOBILISER
Morning Donald I think you need to read very carefully just what your agreement/policy with Beacon says. Personally I don't need or want an algorithm in an Insurance suppliers computer deciding how and where I can drive. It quite probably decided you were to close to an allocated limit and shut down to prevent you exceeding it ??? Dave
