Hi all selling my bmw z3 I purchased to keep as a investment but have decided to sell due to spending loads on it tnad just not using it much also space is now a issue so it has forced my hand slightly absolutly lovelly car drives amazing just had 2 new rear springs as well so drives like new

 

The cooling system has also been compleatly gone through and new radiator , viscous fan and thermostat were installed the roof and seats were replaced and a few bits have been fixed and resprayed so overall the car looks very nice especially for the age has a very good history as well.

 

Car is priced at £2300 for a quick sale but have been told it would get a lot more.

      Hello Dave, Just an update on this. I have managed to get an independent road test undertaken yesterday. We were unable to trigger any audible warnings and could only trigger a warning light randomly at very close distance (1 car length) not the 8 car lengths stated. A visual at this distance does not allow any margin for an additional audible or subsequent automatic braking?. The Technician (Arnold Clark) is going to explore this systems operating parameters with colleagues and also hopefully compare it to a similar BMW they have in stock but not available at the time. I have attached the chart supplied by BMW showing the operational parameters.

      Camshaft stuck issues

      Thanks Dave , the vanos were replaced by the garage and it’s still stuck , the frustration is that the car was actually running ok when it went in for repair, the garage is now dropping the subframe to get to the sump to see if any broken parts are causing issues in the camshaft - the daughter is a nurse and really needs a car , lessons learnt should have took it directly to a BMW independent specialist i think 😩

      Morning Ian Welcome to the Forum I have only heard of this once before and in that instance the actual Vanos had been damaged Have tha Crank and Cam sensors been tested ? Dave
