Hi Guy's,

Sorry to bother you again, I am trying to update my Maps on the GPS in my X1.  I searched high and low to find the Data USB inside the glove box, I did everything as per the Instructions. I got to the point where it asked for the FSC Code or serial number.  I input the code not using Zero's or ones and everything in Upper Case, suddenly it did nothing at all, no messages or anything so I am a tad lost.

Has anyone done this update successfully??

Thanks

hi Noel

Only once on my Brother Inlaws 5 series all straight forward (make sure your battery is fully charged) plugged in the USB entered the FSC when asked and waited for it to do its thing

Hi Dave,

Does it take very long to complete and does it give any visual feedback, I got the FSC in and that was all it did. I will have to wait to try again tomorrow.

Thanks

Yes just left it, went indoors for tea and a bacon butty. We made sure his battery was fully charged and had a charged one ready to hook up if needed

Was your FSC once only ? If it was it could be an issue

I had a look at the order and it said the FSC is lifetime. So far i have left it for a couple of hours and not much has changed.

If it doesnt work i will seek support

Thanks

UPDATE:

Well, one thing they didn't mention in their instructions.  The Car has to be in motion or it won't update.  How stupid is that??  I put the USB in the correct port and went for a drive, within a block or so it started updating, when I stopped at lights so did the update (Interesting) anyway when I took off again it continued.  Eventually it completed and rebooted.  Now the maps are now up to date.  That is a good one to lock away in the memory vault, no doubt it will happen again when the next update is done.
