When driving my x5 it has been going i to limp mode. If i stop, take key out , put it back in and start it , it runs . Could this be caused by low coolant as iv checked it and was low

Has the car overheated ? If you have topped up the coolant has is cured the issue?

A bit more information would help is it Diesel or Petrol? A scan would help pin it down as limp mode can be triggered by Transmission or engine issues
