Hi there, just a quick one to ask if anyone can help me with this, I have a 2004 mini cooper s r53,done 92k miles. I took it off the road for a couple of years, as losing my job, through being made redundant. I have a job, so I put it back on the road, thought I would go and see my sis, so I thought I would give it a little service plug etc, took the plugs out, found oil on the spark plug threads, told it was the spark plug seal's, not had them changed yet but will do soon, would this cause a miss fire??? If anyone can help me with this, I will be grateful to you. Mr Philip Harris

Morning Philip

Welcome to the Forum

The spark plugs are fitted with their own compression seals so make sure they are (a) correct for your model (b) fitted and tightened correctly (c) Check the coil packs your misfire could be a failing coil pack (change all 4)

What oil leaks do you have?

Also at 92k the supercharger service is looming?
