Today morning after about 2 miles drive.. low oil pressure warning came and car was shaking quite a bit.. so pulled over in the hard shoulder..  Each time I crank it shakes quite violently… any thoughts guys… is this an oil pump issue..?

there is no oil leak I can see .. and checked the dipstick and on board oil level and seem fine… there was oil burning I could smell…

The recovery person said it’s to do with DPF… it’s not holding idle either… will a blocked DPF be the reason..?

Not heard this one before what mileage has the car covered? I would have expected some other symptoms if the DPF was restricted. Can't discount it though as recovery drivers tend to see more issues than us

Just over 100k... Dont think the DPF is going to block while driving on the motorway... would it..?? besides i just went to london the other day with no issues.

i will post a video of the issue a bit later on.. after cranking it would violently shake and sputter and turn itself off in around 5-7sec. so I'm thinking high pressure fuel pump..  or the injectors.. ?

You need a diagnostic session with someone who has BMW ISTA/INPA

There are pressure sensors on the DPF on the Fuel Rail on the Inlet manifold if one or more has failed it could cause your issue. I would start by getting a diagnostic done and checking the engine sensors

Had a BMW specialist came down and he had a good look...  took him 2mins...

took the oil filter out and showed me the metal filings all over... he said bottom end gone.. this is on an engine that was rebuild ~2000 miles ago..

I am heart broken to be honest... people scamming like this... I dont know what hes done on the rebuild if it only lasted 2k miles...

The answer Naveen is he probably did nothing but change the main and big end bearings and put it back together. Our sons friend had a similar experience with his 2.0d 1 series the parts for full rebuild cost more than he was charged by the scummer who supposedly rebuilt the engine. Still second time around he could come and help and learn about his car and it's still going strong 3 years on

Heart bleeds for you
