Hey guys! first post here,

I just recently purchased my first beamer after passing, BMW 116i SE (E87), but theres a problem when I drive the car.

It only runs smoothly when I turn off the traction control (DTC), however when it is on, the car does judder quite a lot, has anyone had this problem and if they know of any solutions? many thanks.

Hi Ryan

Welcome to the Forum

I hope you brought the car from a Garage and not Private sale

To know for sure you need a diagnostic session with a garage or mechanic who knows BMW's The problem could be a wheel sensor so get it checked out. If you brought from a Garage they should fix it for you if it was a recent purchase

Hi there,

Thanks for the welcome Dave,

I purchased it from a private sale, The reason why I did so is for what the car was even an idiot wouldn't miss out on the car, 74800k on the clock, automatic gearbox and full parking sensors, has great MOT history and although it does have it's odd few age related marks and bumps, it could be a great car for me to use as a project or eventually fix up and resell, as it is a route I'm taking.

But will definitely take up your suggestion of getting a diagnostics run as it does run surprisingly well with no mishaps.

Morning Ryan

Sounds like a good buy

Use google for test parameters for the sensors you should be able to check them with a multi-meter

Fingers crossed it's the simple fix ENJOY
