I have a 2009 328i hard top coupe convertable with 87,000 miles on it,

should I service my Transmission?  I belive it's a closed system? and no way to check the fluid?

I get conflicting stories about it,  some say I should, other say no don't tounch it,

I'm just not sure what to do, any help would be greatly appreciated

Thank you,

Kelly

Morning Kelly

Welcome to the Forum

Nice car enjoy

If you check ZF's website they advise that the transmission is serviced between 60000km and 100000km depending on use and climate. Sadly around the time your car was made BMW used to tell people the transmission is "Sealed for Life" what they meant by "Life" was the end of their Warranty responsibility. Strangely BMW now sell service kits for Transmissions

The gearbox it probably the most abused part of most cars not just BMW but it is also very tough So many run for the life of the car without service, the downside is if they go wrong they become very expensive to repair

If I were you I would get your transmission serviced Google should help you find a good transmission specialist or ZF centre neat you who are capable of doing the work.

With the weather like this top down and enjoy your Beemer
