Hi all, i dont know if i should be concerned,  but i recently purchased a bmw 1 series 1.5 auto twin turbo, only 30k on the clock, when i go around 60 mph and press down the acceleration i can hear a very light whine sound from the left hand side, is this normal? Maybe the turbo sound? someone mentioned its normal but wanted to double check.

Thanks in advance

Morning Bmw

Welcome to the Forum

The turbines inside a Turbo spin at around 100,000rpm+ so not unusual to hear a slight whine. Make sure all boost hoses are tight no leaks at 30k I would expect your car to have had at least 1 service hopefully more. Personally I am not a fan of extended service intervals and service mine every year regardless (around 5k these days) clean oil always helps.
