BMW grand tourer. The second row right hand side seat backrest is not locking via the pull loop. The seat moves back/forth fine and locks in but the backrest moves. Any ideas to fix welcome πŸ™‚Β

Morning Madeline

Welcome to the Forum

Simple things first, have you tried WD40 in the mechanism and operating it as you do in case its just sticking? The next step I would take is remove the lock and see if it can be fixed on the bench/table if that doesn't work replacement is the the next option.

Check www.realoem.com it is an online BMW Parts List put the last 7 digits of your Vin number into the search box, it will bring up your model then search to find what you need and it's part number. Then do an Internet search for the best price for a replacement.

It could be a dislodged or broken cable or a lock needing replacement if your not very good with spanners or screw drivers you will need some help but it is a job you can do yourself

Good Luck

Dave
