Hi,

 

can someone please help as I’m just going round in circles. I need to replace the steering rack on my 12 plate F30 but looking online there are numerous part numbers so I’m not sure what one to buy. I’ve asked BMW but they have been less than helpful. Can someone please advise me as to whether there are different numbers for the same part.

Welcome to the Forum

Take a look at www.realoem.com put the last 7 digits of your Vin into the search box it should bring up your Model. Then search steering,

double click the part number and you should get a list of alternate part numbers. All of those part will be marked if they will fit. Also you will see what other models they were fitted to after fitting you will need a service code to get it working correctly

      Morning Kieran Welcome to the Forum This is a new problem, I would start with the power supply where have you taken it from ? If you haven't already I would check a wiring diagram for both models to see where the power was arranged in the M4 and check whether that supply is available in the 140 model. Then check www.realoem.com to see if there are repair/replacement looms available. Your description sounds like a relay is tripping in the power feed Good luck with finding the issue let us know how yoy get on Dave

      Engine management lights intermittent faults problem

      Morning ! firstly, check the battery. amazing what a dead cell or discharging battery will do. the fact that they sometimes go away while driving could be that the battery gets enough charge from the alternator that journey, but loses charge next time you fire it up.

      Engine management lights intermittent faults problem

      Our BMW 220d xtrail 2014 is lighting up like a Christmas tree on every journey with various faults pinging on screen. We have been to the local garage numerous times but there are no faults. Sometimes the faults disappear during the journey on their own or vanish when you turn the engine off then on again. Same 3 faults each time as well. Before we take it into a dealership we thought it would be useful to ask if anyone else has had similar problems & what it was. On screen it comes up with the following faults:- 1) Front end collision warning restricted 2) Parking brake only partially working 3) Driving stabilisation fault Fingers crossed.

      Hi Dave,thank you for your reply,it was running before i got my hands on it🤣the car is not local to me so will probably have another go this Sat. But will try what you've suggested and many thanks! Will update the progress on this! Cheers Daryl

      BMW M4 seats / Can they be installed in a 1 series

      Trying to do this myself now (put m4 convertible seats in the 140i) when I do this the seats only work for around 10 seconds then do not work again unless I disconnect the wires and put them back on and does the same again , any ideas the can had manual seats and I’m trying to put electric ones in , they have the module in the seats
