X1 1995 Diesel
Hi and heads up to all X1 owners of this generation! I’d get rid as soon as possible! Anyone with an X1 around this age is sitting on a time bomb in my opinion I have an X1 1995 diesel. My Drivetrain light came on but I had the recall letter re the EGR so I took it into BMW and they did a full health check. The fuel sensor (which BMW know is faulty by the way) had started forcing diesel through every sensor and lead and part of the engine you can imagine. The cost to repair would be thousands so basically my car is finished! It has only done 48,000 had full service history and only one previous own! Not what you expect from a supposedly high end manufacturer -

PCV Valve Issue - Advice Please!
Morning Charlie Welcome to the Forum Bit of a concern that a BMW specialist needed BMW to help ? Some thoughts, can the PCV valve be cleaned ? Has the specialist checked the system hoses for any damage ? Try checking www.realoem.com yourself put the last 7 Digits of your Vin into the search box it should call up your model, then search the sections for what you need there are small exploded drawings that may assist If I recall your car does have an Emmissions Control system and EGR valve with it's assocciated pipework and gaskets worth checking as I was always told Fault Codes can often be symtoms not causes Hope this helps Dave -

Looking at a 2011 118d m sport
Hi everyone , looking at a 118d m sport coupe it has 150,000 on it good history and in decent nick , no history of timing chain replacement , and previous owner stated no clutch replaced in her ownership, what's it going to cost to get these things done , car is cheap enough but don't want to sink too much into it straight away .or possibly buy one that's had these big jobs done and spend a bit more What's the general things to look out for ? Thanks sam
