Radio problem

So we managed to get the radio on by disconnecting the car battery for 40 mins and reconnecting it.

Next problem... Now the radio is on, we can't switch modes! For example, we are stuck on AM, toggling between LW, LWA, MW, MWA. But we can't get to FM, AUX or anything else. If we put a CD in it will switch to that and start playing, but we can't change tracks or anything.

First you need to establish what is fitted to the car Basic with CD, Business with CD or Radio with Nav use a Vin Decoder to establish what system was fitted at Build

Then go to www.realoem.com put the last 7 digits of your Vin into the search box it will bring up your model then look at the Audio Section. Now the fiddly bit you need to remove the radio to get the part number and check against the site part numbers so if you need a replacement you get the right one. It could be that it has been replaced but with the wrong unit or it has a fault. There are a few Companies who repair or upgrade them ECU Testing and Cartronix I have experience of.
