A paddling pool in the rear of my 08 reg 635d Convertible !!
Hi again Dave. The boot was totally dry, but in any event it is also a lot lower and with no obvious route for the passage of water into the rear footwell. The car is in with the painter at present and the visit to the specialist is scheduled/book-in for next Tuesday early AM. -

A paddling pool in the rear of my 08 reg 635d Convertible !!
Hi Jez. Yes, I really do hope that they will get to the bottom of the issue. The decision to take it to a specialist instead of the main dealer again was purely on cost - Main Dealer v a recommended Specialist. Having spoken with the receptionist at the specialist even before it went to the main dealer, she was fully familiar with the issue. The initial visit to the main dealer was simply on the distance from one to the other and the logistics of getting back home and returning again when the car was sorted. -

Hi all, I'll be getting my first bmw in a few days, been driving for many years, have had fords, vauxhalls, saab, mitsubishis, but this will be my first bmw. Can't wait for the X5 40e phev, 2015. I'm sure I'll have loads of questions once I've got it! -

Pedestrian protection system
Hi everyone im new to the forum. My wife has had her X1 for about 2 months now, a dog ran out in front of her a couple of days ago and the auto brake system along with the pedestrian protection system which activated the piston under the bonnet. Luckily the dog was un hurt but ive had a quote of £1000 to replace the Actuators (apparently there a four) has anybody had this problem before. Any advice would be appreciated. -

Drivers door handle broke
Another little patience tester….. went to the car on Saturday morning and the door wouldn’t open. Handle was sticking out a little and would not release the door. All the other doors were fine so I tried the inside.. door opened fine. after a bit of head scratching and googling, I came to the conclusion that the door handle retainer had broken. A Quick Look on Amazon and £25 and 24 hours later I had the part. there are a couple of vids online that show you how to replace it. It’s a bit fiddly but after a brief amount of swearing and an hour the door now works again! success! …. Until the next episodes… I think the cars got the hump with us since we made it pull a caravan and talked about getting a Porsche cayenne 😂
