Hi, I have a BMW 530d E61 manual 6 speed M sport with a slipping clutch. Can anybody say if thed clutch is adjustable or is it a case of a complete replacement.

If its a complete replacement what kind of cost can I expect for this? I would rather avoid a main dealer if possible. regards Paneuro. p.s. its an LCI model.

Hi paneuro, 

im guessing yours is a dual mass flywheel… if it is, you are looking around £500 for the clutch plus fitting… 

standard one is around £200 for the kit. 
 

I had my e46 dual mass replaced for about £850 if I remember.  Any decent garage should be able to do the job.

      Morning Clive Welcome to the Forum Back to the Dealer me thinks and ask them, as the car is new they should help at least with a tutorial. If it is a software issue they should sort it for you. I would hope? As there was no follow up by Spencer we don't know if his Dealer was any help Dave

      Morning Sherry To be sure you need a Diagnostic Scan as the issue could be anything from a failing Starter Motor to a failing Battery, an igition switch problem or Gerabox Inhibitor switch Make sure the battery is fully charged (use the charge points under the bonnet) put the gear selector in N then try. Check all fuses and the Fuel Pump relay The diagnostic scan would confirm what the issue is Good Luck Dave

      Hi Dave, thanks for the insight! Guess I might need to rethink my Bimmer plans if walking and cabs are quick and easy. Those museums you suggested sound awesome! I was also thinking about how to get to the Colosseum, I'll probably end up being one of those 'darned tourists' myself! 😂 I read that it might be possible to skip the lines and get tickets by hiring some local guides. I'll look into https://gowithguide.com/Italy/rome/guides if they book tickets in bulk ahead of time.
