X1 problems with connectivity and Carplay
Yet to take to dealer but looks like there is a software glitch. deleted both my wife’s and my own profile, then reloaded my profile and linked to phone. No problem phone connects perfectly. My wife loaded her profile and linked to her phone, works perfectly for her. however for some reason when I then drive with my profile my phone is no longer linked. If I search with my phone the BMW isn’t shown. If I search with BMW my phone isn’t shown. I can’t connect. now this is the weird bit. If I don’t log in to my profile and instead drive as a guest, press connect phone my phone does show and I can connect. so there is a software glitch on the car. Setting up a second profile on the car for some reason means the first profile’s phone is disconnected but in such a way that the phone doesn’t appear if you do a search on the car and vice versa. However if you change profile to “guest” phone does show and you can connect. my phone is an iPhone 11. I have had no other problems with other cars or blue tooth connections. There is some glitch in the software interface between car and phone. intrigued if anyone else has had this issue. -

Series 1 review mirror has detached from my windscreen
Morning Robert Welcome to the Forum 😂😂 I do hope that whoever told you that has a twisted sense of Humour If your windscreen is in good condition (ie. No cracks, deep scratches, scores and chips that obscure the drivers vision = MOT Fail) So assuming your screen is OK read this Jenksy who has a 6 series has just posted on the fix for the same problem. ""Hi all, I got the adhesive that was recommended in a you tube video with instructions, it was from Permatex. I had to ensure I removed the old adhesive from the silver disk first which took some doing but needed a sharp knife and a razor blade to lift it all. There was no adhesive debris on the wind screen. To fix I then used a wipe supplied in the kit and used a small amount of the adhesive also supplied. The bond took less than a minute. You do need to be sure of the location as the bond is very quick so ensure you can locate the mirror accurately otherwise it is going to get messy. N.B. I had to remove the two connectors to ensure the mirror could be located properly. It was a little fiddly getting them out but went back once mirror was fixed to the windscreen. A good experience though for me and mirror is back on with the accompanying casing parts also." Hope this helps -

My 2011 BMW Series 1 cabriolet’s rearview mirror assembly has become detached from the windscreen. I’m told I need to replace the windscreen. Has anybody had the same problem? -
