Hi all,

Just wanted to ask a question regarding some new wheels i have just fitted on my bmw 318i E90, i have put on some 18" alloys with standard 225/40/18 tyres on. (not run flats)

When driving to work i got a caution come up on my dash, i checked it out and it said i had a flat tyre, i looked in to this as all the tyres was ok and i hadnt reset the computer to tell it that i had changed the wheels. All seems fine now after resetting

Is there anything else i need to reset? Tyre mileage etc? if so how do i do this?

Thanks people, hope you can help me out

Hi there and great choice I love the shape of the E90, and no I don't think you need to reset anything else as if your previous alloys were 17's then jumping up to 18's would do much as iv just done the same, what alloys you running on now mate?

id check to see if the rolling radius is any differnt. theres a web site you can use to check but cant remember what it is!

basically your 17s with whatever tyres and your 18s with 225 40s might be the same overall radius so your speedo etc etc wont be out. cant help with the resets though, anything in the manual?

cheers guys, the outer radius is about the same so i guess that's it.

i have put on some mv3 sport replicas, the originals cost an arm and a leg and you cant really tell any difference.

next job is to get my break pads sorted all round (is this an easy job?)

then im going to get a splitter spolier for the front... B) B) B) B)

how are you with spanners?

if you have some knowledge of cars, eg can do a oil change (along them lines) id say go buy a haynes manual and have a go.

any pics of the new rims?

should be easy enough then lol

check you dont need any special tools first though.

Looked on you tube, tools needed: 8mm hex socket, grease, flat head screw driver and a g-clamp
