Hi, just joined up.

My dads had a couple of old 5 series in the past and recently bought a 2003 318i, had a couple of goes in it and loved it,

although i'm a ford man, i've had 4 fiestas, a mk2 escort and a mk3 capri, i still have the escort capri and one fiesta.

i'm desperate to say farewell to the fiesta, even though its a brillaint little car, and i've got my heart set on a 630i, been looking around and 6 years ago or so its was £45k + and now there getting to be around the £10000 mark, seems like a bit of a bargain to me.

although i'm only 23 i'm saving for one as much as i can, insurance isn't too bad looking at £1300. i don't do massive miles so petrol wont be too bad, and with 6 gears should be able to get a reasonable MPG out of it.

although i might not post much at the moment, once i can get one ill be about.

Paul.

Welcome along mate,

I dont think your too young at all.

I've come from small hatches to a 4 door saloon diesel, im 27 and and all I get of people is 'Wow what a nice car, take me for a spin'.

Plus 6's are sexy as...

Go for it if you can afford it mate.

thanks mate,

its a car i've wanted for a long time, and in a few months they hould have come down a bit more in price.

the 3 litre looks like the best buy, everyone would like the v8 but need the mpg to be a little bit better.

little hatchbacks are great, but i want something a bit more grown up and smart.

so hopefully ill be able to get on in the next few months, or if not will be early 2012 ill get it.

If your even thinking of mpg then a 3.0 isnt for you, If you can afford the insurance at that age go for it but dont waste your money, I`d rather be able to go out once in awhile and not think well i`d like to go out and see my friends but my entire pay is going on car insurance and fuel (damn that supra)

im turning 23 as well in march and i got locked in with the 630i though i had an option of getting the clk the new shape but its price dropped down too the bottom within a short period and there so many of them being sold..so thats y i had to change for a better option the bmw 630i....i am nearly there with the savings to purchase it..the only problem is the insurance i dont mind paying £2000 bt my current quote is 4500 which is way too much...the main reason i have just had my licence for 1 year ofcos and the age too...if anyone can advice on better insurance covers out there...paully seem to have a good quote at his age. im fully aware of what the insurance companies consider area one lives in, age, type of the car and others..im sure there better insurance qoutes out there...i cant seem to change my option for different car coz the 630i is more like a motivation to keep on working harder..as im looking forward to open a business at the end of the year..

i've got 6 years driving experience and 5 years ncb, with no claims or convictions.

the MPG on the 3.0 is about 30mpg, which is find for me, i looked at the 645 but the MPG was a bit to low, i've also been looking at the 635 now as i saw it on 5th gear a couple of days ago, once i've saved enough i will choose between the 630 or 635.

it is the car i want so will definatly be getting one.

insuarnce on my 1st car set me back £2500 on a 1.3 fiesta so the insurance on this is cheap sompared with that.

also i only do about £250 miles a month so filling up a 635 will last 2 months which is good, and the tax is cheaper.

so only time will tell.

I can see y its the 5year ncb. thats good to know about the consumption.i was really concerned about the size of the engine when i first wanted the mercedes clk bt when it came to the 6 series i dnt mind getting e 4lr. Im not leting go of this car either for my age thats the only big car that can suit me.. Its more like a car that suits a young entrepreneur and mature one as well. One thing im not so much concerned about but good to keep aware is the space for the back seaters.is there literaly no room for the back seaters.

Posted

yeah back seats aren't the best but your in the front :D

been looking alot at these and the diesel will do about 630 to a tank, so that would last me over 2 months.

im just desperate to start my new job, but its taking ages to get everythign sorted.

Thats exactly my situation too. The feeling i have right now and evry day is like im very close yet very far but im holding on tight.im changing a field i was working in to a better one. january and february abit dull months. worst months to search for a job.

Im not a diesel man though, when the car gets old it sounds like the red bus.

so whats the main difference between bmw 6 series and the m6 aprt from the bigger engine and ofcos the price .they totally look the same cars.what really makes the price of the m6

Posted

yeah, i'm working in tesco atm, but going back to my old job in Lloyds TSB but its taking ages, until then, i can't do anything,

TBH i think im gonna go for a 630, as the cheapest diesels are over 20k, and i just watched a 630 sell for £9000 on ebay,

not sure about the M6 question, have a search on here or on bimmerforums.co.uk should give you the asnwers

:o 9000 for a 630.thats amazing. i know if it comes to the negotiation terms one can get it for that much but i havent seen it anywhere the least good one i hav watched online went for 10700. it was magneficent it had evrything. i mean visually everything. from the new cream leather interior to the low milage tho it was 645.

Posted

shhhhhshh dnt tell every one the price..i hav jst checked it out 9k thats good bargain..u have jst put me in a position i didnt wnt ....yo even made the situation worser. That cream interior thats the best when its in black and it gets old it doesnt look that good..i ve witnessed that with the ones on sale.My plan for the car when i get it im paying the full annual insurance all at once so there i hav nothing to worry about. the money i get i will b saving will be for something else.

but yeah thats a great car.

yap there are alot of time wasters on auction sites.it comes down to both parties. if you can read his negative feed back you can tell...A person wins a bid and expects a bargain after a bid or is not fully interested and ready to purchase. From time to time i meet such people. There are aggresssive sellers that just put you off.
