so what did you do this weekend??

i managed to do a little more on the bimmer, as usual :lol:

saterday night i went the new local weatherspoons to see how all the scallies live, unfortunatly :angry: and ended up getting a bit tipsy on bitter!! think im showing my age as i actually liked it :blink:

also went for a lovly thai meal with the mrs and got a free pint because the waitress droped my fork in my glass and smashed it! was only half a inch left in there but they insisted so i drank it :P

what did you do? B)

Worked on the 46 again!!!!

Fitted new handbrake shoes Saturday, took a couple of hours,

Didnt do much else that day other tham spray tthe rest of the interior trim black.

Baby sat my niece for a few hours and then got nicley drunk on the Stella (again)

Sunday, did mini detail on the exterior of the 46, too a few hours and some buffer.gif

Took it for a ride and took a few photos.

Then just a relax with the wifey

Quite weekend this weekend for me :)

Did the wifes Uncles budget wedding in the bimmer on Saturday, done me proud :-)

Got totaly wasted Satuday night at the wedding reception!!!!

Went with monster in law to pick her new bathroom, which I have to fit in April :-(

Been playing building a website this afternoon...

Im off out side now with me bucket and sponge and my bottles of Stella..

Hopefully get it clayed today ready for wax tomorrow

NOOOOOOOOOOO... Dont have Stella while cleaning yer car... Sandpaper is a similar colour to a sponge :unsure:

      105C thermostat replacement

      As I understand the wiring diagrams and operation Item 9 on the thermostat housing is the sensor which sends its signal to the ECU for interpretation with information from the map sensor. Information from item 12 (1st drawing ) is also used to provide average temp across the cooling system. As far as I am aware the Thermostst is independent of the sensors and operated by expanding wax material internally

      BMW 318i boot locked can’t get into

      Errr not clear here Donald Plastic "L's" with short rubber hoses ??? Distilled water/Ionised water should only be used in an old style lead acid battery. The Rad and engine coolining system should be filled with the correct coolant mix to prevent cavitation and the danger of freezing in low temps. Coolant should be part of the cars regular maintenance and changed every 3 years or so. At that time all hoses and connectors should be inspected and changed where necessary to keep everything in tip top condition. Changing parts can cause as many problems as you may think your solving

      BMW 318i boot locked can’t get into

      Update: I checked my battery and it charged in 5 minutes, so I don't have to find another alternator. All seems to be OK except for the plastic "L"s with a short rubber hose that bypass the HV/AC solenoid. Those get clogged after @ 150,000-190,000 miles (if distilled water wasn't used) and cause air pockets that try to burst radiators. I have a few more brass "L"s, so now I can throw the plastic ones away. I have to be careful I don't fog the windows though, without heat or cool.

      105C thermostat replacement

      You are absolutely right. The strange thing is that when I put the chassis number on the realoem it shows that the temp sensor is not applicable on my vehicle. I will physically check for a sensor. In the meantime, do you think that the removal of the MAP activated thermostat will effect the temp gauge on the dial instrument item 6? I am tempted to add a dummy resistor , 11.5ohms - 13watts , to simulate the MAP thermostat. Your thoughts?
