Had 6 BMW in past tried most other things but just not as well built or as comfortable that includes rusty underpowered Mercs.

i am 38, had a count up and had some 70 ish cars over the years including 8 BMWs the only car i have bought the most consectutively almost one after the other, had 2 mercs one was a stunning looking 300ce and did like that car but still nothing compares to the BMWs, especially the E38 728i sport i have now and that includs the E60 530d Mtech Sport Re mapped etc that was 6 months old when i got it, this ole 7 beats that easy....

The more I drive the old e38 the better i am liking it,went through a phase where I was toying with a 320 clk. Drove a few they were pretty good to but all were rusty. That's how I ended up with my big toy. Now wishing I had looked for the 4 litre.

This is now the 5th BMW I've bought, the previous 3 and 5 Series sedans were mine, the last Touring was the wifes and when it finally died it had to be replaced with a real car! Therefore she now has the E46 Convertible, and she didnt make me mow the lawn this weekend either, a right result all round.

i voted looks but all of the choices really apart from it was me that made her indoors do it :D

Main reasons were it was a lot more comfy and quiet compared to my Civic Type R with an un-silenced exhaust system.

Also really nice place to be, rear wheel drive, 50/50 weight distribution, auto, smooth straight 6.

Went looking for an Audi. Got peed off with the junk that sellers said were mint! Hadnt looked at a Bm for years but heard the 330 was good. Any how...after seeing yet another horrible Audi interior we passed Sytners on the way home....thought sod it went for a look & there she was! Mint straight & with 12 months warranty. Didnt like the wheels(pain to clean) Didnt much like the colour(steel blue) but 1 mile(may have been 300yds lol) in it & it was mine. Had to have it! The engine sold it to me!

You may ask. Why o why o why? Put simply 'cos they're superb German engineering, my 3rd, my wife's on her 3rd and my son on his 2nd. Can't fault them.

Always loved the design the looks and the comfort........

Mos of all from front pillar to rear pillar there german tanks and with 2 kids ideal

with me it was a combination of the badge, looks, reliability, performance and practiciality and the BMW M235i ticked those boxes the most out of all the cars I was looking at

Wasn't looking for any car in particular, Soon as I seen it in the garage, had to have it. Car that I traded in (Mondeo Titanium X) was newer than this one. Love this car. Wife still can't understand why I bought an older car than I had. She's not allowed to drive it

Very simple answer in my case. Other car problems, needed half decent good performance wheels in a hurry, right car at the right price at the right time in the right place. And gotta say, so glad it was! Doubt I'll leave the BMW fold for a long time!

I would have thought as one of the options would be the distinct soundtrack BMW's have. If you know them well you can pick em out without seeing them. :-)

Well I voted for LOOKS. As a small child iv'e always liked the BMW, but never been able to afford one. I don't know about specs, but just love the look and style of them. After a year of the X misses leaving me, I decided that I wanted something for myself, and what better than buying my dream car.

I went to a garage and started looking at 4 door BMW's. whilst looking at a particular garage, they had to move 5 other cars for me to look at a BMW. But they moved the first one out and it was a black e46 coupé. Well my jaw just dropped, fell in love with it and ended up buying it.

Love my Black Ice.

When I was 22 , I swapped a Sapphire Cosworth for an E30 325i Sport, it is still the best motoring decision I ever made. I so wish I never got rid of it. :(

When i was about 14 or 15 i fell in love with bmws. their looks, their sound and their presence made me feel all warm n fuzzy xD. when i was 17 i bought my 1.3 Fiesta Mk5. Old rattler but fun in the back lanes around here. not so much on the bypasses.

a friend of mine had my car then, i spent alot of my days dreaming of owning it, then when i was 20, he put it up for sale.... i snapped his hand off.. threw the money at him n took the keys, BEST DECISION EVER!!! i love my Cosmos Schwarts E46 328i AcS.

her looks

her feel to drive

and her passion for pinning me in my seat.

Even though she hasnt been without problems costing me a fair few quid over the last 3 years, i wouldnt dream of parting with her. when i am behind that wheel, the engine humming infront of me, exhausts popping behind me and every passenger i have ever had in it getting excited and filled with adrenaline. it makes me feel alive... my 3 series is ME, without a doubt.

Whats more awsome, my missus loves it, and has said never to sell her, even if she needs repairs and we cant afford them, we will just have her untill we can.

long live BlackBetty

I already had a BMW 320i and I went out and Bought a BMW X3 which at the time was a impulse buy. I laid it to park for week as I was thinking of away to tell the wife. Waited for Valentines day as I know that lavishing out on her would soften the blow. It did as the Hummer Limousine to take her out in style did the trick.

I bought the car for10K 8 years ago and not once did I regret it. A good buy indeed. would I impulse again. Yes I would. :D :D

My old man was the reason for me. In my lifetime he's had an E21, several E30's including an M3, E36 M3, E60 M5, a short lived E53 X5 and currently an F10 535I. So you could say it runs in the blood!

Brought my 320d as it was more powerful, faster, drives better, is more economical, and cheaper to tax than any of the other cars I looked at, (Audi, VW, volvo). And it's reliable and well built :)

Mine was firstly, practicality. I am about to be on my third Touring as I work in Germany, so I need to lug a fair bit of kit about. The new one ticks performance greatly, but the other reason was price. I don't pay tax for cars out here (about the only good thing about being in the Forces) so for what I paid, comparing it to its rivals, it was a no brainier really.
