Door Lock?

Hi guys/gals just a quicky is there a special way of operating the drivers door lock with the key? I've tried to lock and unlock the car with the key but it just turns and does nothing so either i'm doing something wrong or it's goosed which leads to my next question, is this a common fault and is it easily fixed?

Mine works on the key but iirc it doesnt disarm the alarm.. if Gav forgets tomorrow I'll check mine for you ;)

I did try and unlock the door with the key the other day and its probably never been done before so I've probably broken it myself, I'll pop the door card off and have a look It's probably an easy fix.

prolly the lock mate mine opens fine with a key...........
