Hi Folks,

I have been enjoying my 2003 320td compact for 5 months now. I am looking to improve a few things in the car. I have upgraded the radio (which was terrible) and I am hoping to get some smarter seats than the standard cloth ones that the car came with.

I know the the 2.5 litre models all have leather seats. Does anyone know of how I might go about getting a set of leather seats (second hand) that would fit my car nicely which wouldn't cost too much.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks guys will defo check ebay out. Sizes for three series compact seats will only be specific to that model I presume............. ie other 3 series rear seats would not do?

      Copy Ignition Key?

      Hi Stu, sorry I missed you reply, thanks for that. Seems I have an odd problem. The key reader can't read the existing key. Even though it works fine. Nevertheless, I got a copy made and sure enough, it doesn't work! Is it possible to disable the immobiliser?

      Hi Dave, I thought you would dive into that one. I have found a reference to it in the book and it would appear its connected via the computer on the I drive but so far I have not been able to give it the kiss off life. i can follow the instructions so far and then nothing. I will keep trying and if your interested the first reference is on page 85 of my handbook . thanks Paneuro.

      ZF8HP service

      Good morning all, So, having had my car for a little over 6 months I decided to give the transmission an overdue service. Parts obtained from Autodoc for £205 for ZF service kit, a fill plug & mechatronic sleeve (Just in case) Job wasn't that bad to do. I even found the source of an intermittant rattle from un undershield. Once done I cleared the adaptions & drove up the road, instantly the shifts were noticeably smoother, not that they were too bad before, just slightly less refined. ZF recommend it to be done at 60K I believe, my car has covered 79K miles. I might do just a fluid flush at 100K miles, we'll see...

      2008 530d e61 M sport manual gearbox

      I have recently had a new clutch fitted and notice that it has stopped displaying on the dash which gear I'm in, or should I say when I should be changing up or down the gearbox. It doesn't bother me greatly but it was working prior to having the new clutch fitted. I have searched the handbook but so far I can't find any reference to this. Can anybody throw any light on this? regards Paneuro.
