Wondering about getting me motor remapped though don't / wont be able to pay the additional costs by declaring to the insurance company. I have been told by a reputable garage that there is no way of actually proving if a car has been remapped as its not like back in the day where a chip is put in.

If you can tell that a car has been remapped can you tell when it was remapped? If not and you got busted I suppose you could play ignorant say that you got the car like that and you didn't realise............

Of.course I would.never lie on my insurance its literally not worth the hastle if you get found out....and god forbid you kill someone your screwed if not declared as it shows a complete disregard for the rules and other motorists and will get the book thrown at you.........

But without plugging it in they cant tell.

most insurance companies will hook the car up to a laptop in the event of a crash.so my advice is to tell them.some insurance companies specialise in remapped/modified cars anyway and wont charge you more.my insurance company lowered my quote when i told them i had a set of alloys in the car.wtf?lol
