Hi I'm new to the forum and just looking for comments and assistance regarding the following; I'm considering the addition of a hardtop for my Z3, any comments where I might find the fixture kit, about how much and is it a do-it yourself fit?

Mine has the electro-hydraulic hood!

look forward to your responses and a thanks' in advance to all

TBH I would think anyone selling a hard-top would include the latchings (if it fits without mods), daft not to !

Hello Road,

The fixings can be quite pricey, I have seen them on ebay go for around the £250 mark, you can no longer get them from B.M.W directly, the hard tops can go for anything between £400-£600, there was a bloke in Scotland advertising to do the kit and fix it for a £1000!! but I didn't go down that road

I have had this done myself, it is worth it if you can get it, as it does give you a bit of added protection in the Winter

Hardtops distort with age,are notorious for leaking, are expensive and spoil the look of the car.Not as easy to install as you may think. My advice, save your money.

Newbie here, likewise just bought Z3 silver with power hood yesterday and that is what I am planning to do next to put a hardtop on it. Been looking all over the net but cannot find anything. I dont mind spending 1000 if anyone knows please PM me. Any colour as long as will fit my Z3 will buy it. Thank you.

Mine is fantastic I found it easy to fit the brackets as I copied the car I brought it off, looks amazing on and I can see out off the rear view mirror for the first time clearly, don't buy one unless it has a fitting kit with it.
