Hi guys,

THIS is causing my E28 to idle around 2k constantly. I know exactly what it does but can't get any information online about what it is exactly.

It has coolant flow through one end and air through the other. when the coolant gets to a certain temperature it shuts off the airflow to the manifold that causes the high rev (cold start). Mine is stuck completely open letting a constant amount of air through all the time. It's equivalent to having a hole in the manifold the size of a 10p.

I have found only ONE site that explains it but thats it! only ONE. I can't find it to buy it anywhere and this is a serious problem for me as without it, It's pretty much un-drivable. If ANYONE can help me find one to buy you would be helping me immensely! and will defiantly warrant a beer at the next meet.

The link I have found: http://www.e30tech.com/forum/showthread.php?t=98014

Daz, why not try soaking it in some of that high alcohol stuff to see if it'll free up?
