Motorway Speed Limit Set To Rise To 80mph, about time in my opinion… need to catch up to modern motoring. What do you think?

They can make it whatever they want IMO,I never pay attention anyways,I'll go as slow or as fast as I see fit ;)

Prob not the kind of answer people are looking for but hey, thats just me and its just my opinion :)

p.s. just so you know I do not condone any form of unnecessary, reckless driving or speeding !! :)

i'm all for it, means i can get places quicker, even if my fuel bill goes up and the emissions will increase. getting there quicker is more important to me. ;)

Don't think it makes much difference - should be 90 !!

But they say it will increase productivity/economy, but I say ONLY if they raise the HGV speed limit too (from 56 to 65) !!

More speed on trucks only means one thing .It will be added on to all your shopping bills. We will all pay, one way or another. And while the government collects more road revenue rubbing it's corrupt hands together to waste on pointless exercises,Instead of making are roads safer.

it's about time this was raised.i think they need to raise the speed on normal roads to 40 at none peak times too.30 mph hour is just too slow and was set when cars were not as good at stopping with no abs.

setting the speed limit to 80 mph on the motorway is gonna mean we can get away with doing 88 legally then.haha

Actually slightly more as they have to also allow for speedo calibration as well as the 10% freedom !
