Connectors in the boot next to the battery
Hi - I have a 2007 1.6L Petrol 1 series and it has wire connectors in the boot near the battery but I don't know what they are meant to connect to. Are they just spare or is there a part missing? The car currently not starting but we think it is a BCM fault but just wanted to know what the cables in the boot are meant for. Any help would be greatly appreciated be gratefully appreciated as we can't read the fault codes as we think the BCM is faulty and the car won't idle properly but there might be some other issue. Regards Andrew -

Bmw x1 2012 won't start
Morning Marvin You need a Diagnostic Scan with a BMW capable system , I assume that when the Footwell control module and and Battery were replaced they were correctly registered to your chassis ? Has your Mechanic checked the starter solenoid ? much cheaper than a starter Hope this helps Dave -

BMW 318i boot locked can’t get into
As an "Old Bloke" (big 80 has been and gone) I just dont see cutting corners as saving money ?? over a very long driving life I have owned many many cars I have always maintained my own cars (mix of maintaining Dealer Warranty and self). At one point when in business my cars were changed on a mileage basis but after retirement did I want to spend £50k+ on a new car, NO! so My BMW X5 4.6is and may wifes Subaru Outback 3.0 (2003 and 2004) were the last. The X5 and the Subaru are still going strong both around 160k and maintained by me in my Home Garage everything on both cars works as it should (as an aside both cars have had engine upgrades and give 400+whp) both cars are and have been 100% reliable. As the 4.6is is quite rare in the UK 3 years ago I brought a cheap 3.0d X5 and after fixing the bodges I have a reliable and economical X5 to tow with and stop the mileage building on the 4.6 Wrong coolant can do as much damage as no coolant as can a stuck or no thermostat (longer warm up times using more fuel) I agree with using recycled parts to save money just never Tyres Brakes or Suspension parts they are all that is between you and a ditch Dave- bmw
