Just recently bought myself a 318ci sport after owning a 1.2 ibiza. After 3 years I fancied a change plus the fact that now I can afford the insurance means I can finally upgrade so something slightly more powerful without the insurance companies asking for a limb :D

Anyway, it's still at the dealership, just put the deposit down today and am picking it up thursday.

30,000 miles, full RAC inspection with full service history and hpi check etc.

I used to be on seatcupra.net (still go on it now) and always got friendly help and I'm hoping it's the same here :)

Just been under a week now and I absolutely love it :) such a big upgrade from my previous car, feels a lot more sold and much more spacious inside which is good for a tall guy like me :)

lovely car bud, low mileage as well. enjoy your stay and i'm sure you'd find an answer to any probs you may encounter. they really are a helpful lot on here. ;)

      X3 2.0 automatic

      hi , I had very similar problem a while back, and after a lot of testing with vista, it turned out to be a front R/H wheel , speed/wheel sensor. when it all was happing lots of codes were coming up gearbox, diff front and back, transever box,plus many more, didn't look good, but there was one code that repeatedly came up at the top of the list, at this point it was becoming undriveable ,it just didn't seem that a wheel sensor could cause all these codes. So I went got two wheel speed sensor, replaced driver side front, the problem never came back, the sensor controls so many systems ,cleared all codes, happy days, I could have pulled the car apart for nothing, and got nowhere, except an empty wallet. hope this helps you or someone.

      105C thermostat replacement

      As I understand the wiring diagrams and operation Item 9 on the thermostat housing is the sensor which sends its signal to the ECU for interpretation with information from the map sensor. Information from item 12 (1st drawing ) is also used to provide average temp across the cooling system. As far as I am aware the Thermostst is independent of the sensors and operated by expanding wax material internally

      BMW 318i boot locked can’t get into

      Errr not clear here Donald Plastic "L's" with short rubber hoses ??? Distilled water/Ionised water should only be used in an old style lead acid battery. The Rad and engine coolining system should be filled with the correct coolant mix to prevent cavitation and the danger of freezing in low temps. Coolant should be part of the cars regular maintenance and changed every 3 years or so. At that time all hoses and connectors should be inspected and changed where necessary to keep everything in tip top condition. Changing parts can cause as many problems as you may think your solving

      BMW 318i boot locked can’t get into

      Update: I checked my battery and it charged in 5 minutes, so I don't have to find another alternator. All seems to be OK except for the plastic "L"s with a short rubber hose that bypass the HV/AC solenoid. Those get clogged after @ 150,000-190,000 miles (if distilled water wasn't used) and cause air pockets that try to burst radiators. I have a few more brass "L"s, so now I can throw the plastic ones away. I have to be careful I don't fog the windows though, without heat or cool.
