I would say yes !

But, could be dependant on engine size

Its a 1.9 engine, the problem is the abs light is on and some times it goes off ,its like it has a mind of its own.Im very tempted to remove the abs as long as the speedo doesnt run of it.

Your Speedometer runs off the gearbox in all cases... The ABS will have issues if either -

The inside of the discs are soiled/rusted...

Sensor failure...

Fluid levels or air in the system...

OBD reset after work has been done has not been done...

The ABS Unit is faulty...

BTW You DO have ABS... Check the above 1st and get back to me with your findings...

Just out of interest, what is the difference in tread depths of your front and rear tires.

My fronts were replaced last January, but the rears hung on till they were down to the legal limit.

The abs/asc did not like the huge difference in tread depths and threw up abs warnings and skid warnings.

All gone now it has new tires all round.

P reg should have come with ABS, I'm sure it was that year.

May have just missed it if its an early model.

If you have an ABS light that lights up then (stating the obvious) you have ABS... How does the brake pedal feel? When was the fluid last changed? Did you have a look at what I mentioned way back in this Topic?
