Hi, I am Paul from Swindon... :)

Not New to BMW but new to covertibles! Looking forward to getting to know you all and comparing machinery!

I've already compiled a mountain of questions for you all so run for cover all of you :rolleyes:

Thanks guys!

Question one is about paint chips, are there any threads on getting them to look as inconspicuous as poss? I've not really dabbled before!

I have a line of quite deep (down to the black plastic) chips on the rear bumper, around 10 of them a couple of mm wide. Having only just bought the car I cant yet afford to take it to a bodyshop so a DIY job will have to see me through for a couple of months.

Any help gratefully received!

Well hello

To be honest I have a mobile bloke who will be doing mine next month, going around it to re-spray both wing mirrors, and about half a dozen scratches, plus a couple of little scratches on the hard top, will set me back around about the £160 mark

(I have the same colour Z3 as you have, slightly different wheels though lol)

Silver is a funny colour to get right!!

      105C thermostat replacement

      You are absolutely right. The strange thing is that when I put the chassis number on the realoem it shows that the temp sensor is not applicable on my vehicle. I will physically check for a sensor. In the meantime, do you think that the removal of the MAP activated thermostat will effect the temp gauge on the dial instrument item 6? I am tempted to add a dummy resistor , 11.5ohms - 13watts , to simulate the MAP thermostat. Your thoughts?

      SLIPPING CLUTCH

      Morning Andrew I normally disconnect the Neg lead only, some folks disconnect both a few even say disconnect both and touch them together. Goes without saying both sensor plugs need to be checked and a squirt of contact cleaner applied never hurts 😅 Dave

      Hi Dave, I fitted one of the sensors on the rear but it has made no effect as the light is still there, I will fit the other sensor tomorrow and see how it goes then. You mention the disconnect the battery, is there any pattern to this ? is it both leads or just the negative lead? cheers Paneuro.

      105C thermostat replacement

      Not sure what engine your running but there should be a Temp sensor in the Hose from the Rad to the water pump then there should be a Temp sensor in the housing for the Thermostat Both are shown in realoem for the 3.5 V8 I thought the V8 was the only one with dual use sensor on the Thermostat housing but stand to be corrected Dave
