Hi, I've noticed that the cigar lighter socket, into which my Sat Nav is connected, remains powered in all ignition key positions, even with the keys removed. Is this going to cause a drain on the battery, should I remove theplug eveet time I turn the engine off? Seems like a design flaw... thanks in advance!

If your battery is strong and the car is in regular use then this will not be a problem, the lighter should be active at all times.

If your worried just simply un plug the sat nav? Problem solved

If you intend to keep your 5er for some time, why not hard-wire the sat-nav?

OR... Sell the sat-nav to help pay for an upgrade?

Nothing to worry about as long as there isn't a 'load' attached.

Imaging it like a plug socket in your house, leccy is always there, but don't cost you anything till the TV is plugged in.
