Hello all,

Im new to bmw and going to be asking some silly question from now on.

First of all i was wondering if any one could poiint me in the right direction to find a place where I can buy a new iphone snap adaptor for the E53? as all i can seem to find is the E70. Also our car has a bluetooth button on. This is new to me. Can someone explain this function to me please.

Looking forward to hearing from you all. Thankyou in advance for any help.

Hi mate welcome to the club

I might be wrong but I don't think the iPhone fits under arm rest it seems too wide for space provided I have a clip on phone holder for my iPhone that fits on passenger side of gear selector and my Bluetooth is through my parrot

Thanks for the welcome Chris,

Only reason I asked is because I found a website that someone had bought a cradle for the e53 and took the iphone 3gs but they had very carefully scribbed away at the casing to take the 4.

I couldnt find anywhere on this site which said where he had got the part from, he had a pick of the part, just no link or reference to where he got it. Kinda stumped.

      BMW 318i boot locked can’t get into

      Errr not clear here Donald Plastic "L's" with short rubber hoses ??? Distilled water/Ionised water should only be used in an old style lead acid battery. The Rad and engine coolining system should be filled with the correct coolant mix to prevent cavitation and the danger of freezing in low temps. Coolant should be part of the cars regular maintenance and changed every 3 years or so. At that time all hoses and connectors should be inspected and changed where necessary to keep everything in tip top condition. Changing parts can cause as many problems as you may think your solving

      BMW 318i boot locked can’t get into

      Update: I checked my battery and it charged in 5 minutes, so I don't have to find another alternator. All seems to be OK except for the plastic "L"s with a short rubber hose that bypass the HV/AC solenoid. Those get clogged after @ 150,000-190,000 miles (if distilled water wasn't used) and cause air pockets that try to burst radiators. I have a few more brass "L"s, so now I can throw the plastic ones away. I have to be careful I don't fog the windows though, without heat or cool.

      105C thermostat replacement

      You are absolutely right. The strange thing is that when I put the chassis number on the realoem it shows that the temp sensor is not applicable on my vehicle. I will physically check for a sensor. In the meantime, do you think that the removal of the MAP activated thermostat will effect the temp gauge on the dial instrument item 6? I am tempted to add a dummy resistor , 11.5ohms - 13watts , to simulate the MAP thermostat. Your thoughts?

      SLIPPING CLUTCH

      Morning Andrew I normally disconnect the Neg lead only, some folks disconnect both a few even say disconnect both and touch them together. Goes without saying both sensor plugs need to be checked and a squirt of contact cleaner applied never hurts 😅 Dave
