getting a hideous rattle from under the bonnet, must be something to do with the air conditioning is when I press the snowflake the rattle stops. It was a little rattle at first, but has become louder and more urgent sounding. Now it's so bad I don't even run the air conditioning. Any ideas, I suspect it's a compressor.

All help appreciated

Run the motor and get under the hood, air-con off, locate the noise (use a pipe to your ear if necessary)...
