Hi guys,

the battery in my car keeps dying I chargr it up or jump it then drive it for awhile and works fine but then when I turn I off it will most of the time not start back up like the battery is dead so I replaced the battery but it started doing it again any ideas would be great thanks!

Have you got a multi meter? If so charge the battery over night. Start the car up and put your multi meter on + and – and see if you are getting 13v+, any less than that and you have a charging problem.

Does it run and drive 100% once jump started? If so and it is charging the battery it could be a battery drain, test to see if it is charging then come back to me

... Also check that all the cables are tight at the alternator.

      Rough idle problem

      Looking for some help. 2010 116i M sport with the 2.0na engine. When cold, car ticks over perfectly. After about 15 mins of driving when idling you can feel it getting a little bit rough. Nothing too bad, but the longer you idle the worse it gets. No EML. When running car runs perfectly not a flicker. Today left it idling for 10mins after I felt it and then revs started to fluctuate but still no eml. OBD scanner can’t pick anything up. Turned it off and back on and was still rough but only a little bit like when it just starts. Anyone had anything similar or can point me in a direction of where I should start looking?

      E53 petrol fail safe again.

      Right… changed the throttle body, now goes like stink… didn’t start… new battery, now starts and goes like stink…. now drops into fail safe and says the idle valve is mechanically stuck open. where is it, how much is it… can I kick it?

      3.0i starter motor

      I stand corrected…. It wasn’t the starter. I could hear it clicking so checked the battery, amps were about 10… new battery and fired straight up…. So much for Halfords and yuasa battery testing! ….now to the next issue…

      I recently had a problem with my bmw x1 2012, failed to start,fault code came up , got the foot control module and battery replacement, not even two days of driving the car won't start again and the engine light is on .mechanic is now saying it's the starter

      Many thanks for the help I've hot the car booked in for a full health check but it seem that the transfer box oil as not been changed for nearly 3 years so I'm hoing to do that first to see if it helps
