Hi I was just wondering if anybody knows how to take the orange film out of my clock help me plz lol

Posted

Its not an orange film, its orange paint underneath white paint on the back of the face on the clock.I take it that you want to change the colour of the light coming thru the dials.....trust me when I say its a flippin nightmare to remove,Ive done a complete interior light change, switches, dash etc etc !! Hard work but worth it :)

Heres a link to a thread I used.....

You wouldn't happen to know of an easier way of getting rid of the orange of clocks would u just got clocks in bits and nail varnish remover is not budging it lol

YOU HAVE TO USE THINNERS !! And a lot of hard rubbing behind the numbers so be prepared for a sore/blistered finger.Sorry but there is no other way except total dial changes !!

They look alot nicer me and me wife spent a couple hours with a Stanley blade and scraped the orange of all the numbers and stuff we got couple sore fingers lol but well worth it

TBH Dave, it's just LCD with back-light so it should be just a case of changing the bulb(s) :)

No such luck mate, they are proper tiny LEDs and the only way to do the colour change is to break the current LEDs carefully and solder new blue ones to the legs that are exposed when breaking the old ones, and theres flippin loads of them :( I soldered all the switches ok but this is far to precise for me to do,plus my iron only has a medium sized head and this job needs a tiny one.So id rather buy one already done or pay somebody to do it :)
