Hi, I just bought a dark blue '94 730i (straight six) and thought I would introduce myself. Its not my first BMW, as I did have a 328i convertible at one stage, but its my first seven. The car is in fairly good shape externally, and looks great after a polish up, although it does have a few gremlins at the moment - i need to replace parts on both front and rear suspension. I started to replace the front shocks last weekend but got scuppered by three bolts that just would not budge! Anyway, internally it looks nice too, with fairly clean grey leather. Although its a base model in engine terms it is fairly well spec'ed, with PDC and nice wood trim.

I suppose the one question I have at this stage is in relation to wheels - I need to buy new tyres and it seems almost as cheap to buy some new(secondhand) wheels with tyres. I've seen a nice pair from an e36, but these are different offset, and I was wondering if anyone has had success using spacers to make such wheels fit an e32?

Anyway, that's it - i'll try to post some pics when I get round to it...

Welcome aboard, Will...

I would bin the idea of 3series wheels and spacers, just hunt for 7series rims/tyres matey, too much hassle adjusting offsets and the wheel/tyre combo will be smaller than required making the speedo read about 5-6mph faster than you're actually travelling !!

      218d 2017 ACTIVE TOURER CENTRE REAR TAILGATE BRAKE LIGHT

      Hope you guys can help me with this troublesome query.. how the heck do you get direct access to this light, so you can remove it via it's 3 fixing screws? I've got the replacement light for the existing broken one, but I just don't know and can't find out what to remove to do this? Surely someone out there has done this? I live in hope.

      Collision Avoidance System

      Thank you for your response Dave, I have been to BMW Dealer but all they say computer indicates 'no faults' although I had frequent warnings saying system was restricted. They refuse to road test it saying it is dangerous to road test which I dispute as the system should give a visual warning at 8 car lengths and low speeds. I suggested to test it against another BMW with the same system but again they will not. If I have it on the most sensitive setting and get no warnings what is the point of the less sensitive settings. Lots of unanswered questions with this system?

      Morning Billy You need a diagnostic session to narrow things down, at 161k I would also carry out a compression test and check fuel delivery and pressure. Your symptoms could be an accumulation of things or as simple as a dying throttle body diagnostics will help Dave

      BMW X1 Fuel sensor failure.

      Hello. If you own or use a BMW with a diesel engine, manufactured since 2006, a faulty fuel line with an integrated temperature sensor is most likely installed in the engine compartment of your car. This sensor becomes unsealed and injects fuel through the electrical wires via the plug, as a result of which the entire installation (harness), controllers (including turbines) and the ECU (computer) are damaged. Failure may occur after approximately 40,000 km. The costs associated with purchasing the above-mentioned parts amount on average to 4000 euro or more + service, but this repair does not solve the problem because the new temperature sensor still has the same defect. I have developed an effective protection that prevents fuel from entering despite a faulty sensor, which permanently solves the problem.
