i have some of what can only be described as mayonnaise under my oil cap. dose this mean its head gaskit time at 105,000 surely not?

Souds about right, is the quote from a Stealer or local garage?

It's a days work to be honest and the majority of that quote will be labour !!

its from a garage dabsy i have used them for years. for mot etc. i like to have a tinker my self but this is to deep for me i hate paying people to do work! just rang someone else for another quote it was 800 think he is haveing a laugh!

Hahahaha...

It's do-able if you have the tools i.e. Thin 10mm long-reach sockets for the rocker !!

I threw a bottle of K-Seal in mine when she overheated last Spring and has never dared past half-way since.

mine hasnt overheated yet. been keeping my eye on her. might give the special k a go when she dose tho.

Agreed if the car hasn’t been driven for a while, clean the cap up, and go give the car a 40 minute drive,

Then take the cap off, if it mayo again the news isn’t good,, if it isn’t it may just be a bit of damp drawn into the oil

Also, as she hasn't overheated, the head will be fine and not need attention/milling !

she gets used daily its down in the bottom end too you can see it on the dip stick.ill keep my eye on the the coolent got her booked in the the end of the month.more expence good job i love her. thinking about geting it chipped what you think people??

Avoid the chip idea as they're off-the-shelf items, best to do a re-map as it will be tailored to your car ;)

Ya, Gaskets gone. As Dabsy said, the head 'should' be okay but I would put any ideas of chipping/remapping aside for the moment matey as a creamy engine equals moneys if your paying someone too do it for you.
