Hi

Just bought a 320d m sport. only drove a few miles but everything seems to be in working order, nice power etc. this is the first bmw i;ve owned and also the first diesel. when accelerating and changing gear theres a sort of whoo noise from the engine, bit like a dump valve, is this normal? also the steering feels a lot heavier than other cars i've driven, it has the 18 inch mv alloys on, could it be the sheer size/width of the tyres thats making it feel a bit heavy?

thanks in advance

The woosh is normal when letting off the power, this is similar to a dump valve in sound.

BMW's do have heavier steering, and my 320d had 18/225's on and the steering is certainly heavier than when i had the 16's on.
