I have a 1998 520i touring estate, problem is with the heater/blower controls, all works fine but when i park up and leave the car it runs the battery flat within 2 hours, I have to remember to take out the fuse (no.9 in glovebox) if i dont take the fuse out when i return to the car the battery is flat every time, Ive been told its the relay but dont know where it is or even if thats the trouble, Can anyone help on this please, Many thanks Paul.

Hmmm shouldn't be "live" after keys removed !!!

Strange, I wonder what the problem is then, Ive had a new battery, alternator and starter motor but if it isnt 'live' it shouldnt drain the battery but it does !!

Auto-Electrician will just run a chase on that circuit and confirm if its live or not.

When the ignition is completely off (keys out) will the blowers turn on? And if so, will the air get hot?

Just an update, I took no 9 fuse out last night thats causing the problem (well i thought) and i still had a flat battery this morning, think i might have to get an auto electrian to look at it,

Auto electrician will sort it mate :) he'll have a multimeter and know what to look for and where to send the chase

Keeping an eye on this thread for any updates so please keep um coming!

Just got the car back and after loads of tests on circuits the only thing that came back was a dead cell in the battery although it was a new battery, he said there was nothing wrong with the heater/blower etc after testing it all, put a new battery on so it "should" be ok now, fingers crossed.
