Hello People,

I've just bought a 325D (E90) 2008 and am thinking of getting the ECU remapped. I know you can buy 'off the shelf' remap kits but I want to get it on a rolling road. I'm aiming for better fuel economy and more bhp.

Does anyone know of a reputable, reliable, professional company in the South West of England where I can take my motor?

Any idea of prices?

What has been your experience of remapping?

Does it change the emissions for the MOT?

What do you do about telling your insurance company?

Any problems popped up after remapping?

Is it worth the dosh?

Sorry for all the questions but I'm like a kid in a candy store right now :P

Cheers

Hi

I have had my 535d remapped and would highly recommend it. It makes an already impressive car brilliant. Fuel economy improved by about 2-3 mpg, if I don't use the extra power. No issues with reliabilty.

I used JamSport in Northampton who have a nationwide clientele, they also dyno'd the car for me too. They have tuned two of my cars to date and are about to do a third...and I'm very fussy!

I declared it to my insurance and my premium increased by £25 per year, with which I was pleasantly surprised.

MOT is fine and two years ago it cost me around £600 which included a hand held box, that I can use to put the car back to stock (and back) if I wish and before and after rolling road.

Is it worth the money...OH YES!

Yep tell ya insurance company, because in event of of a claim, our enginners plug in to the car to check mileages, key numbers, chassis numbers and of course look for re maps.

Thanks for your replies all,

I'll google the places mentioned. Picking my BM up tomorrow - excited!

Probably get used to the power increase of switching from my current 2 litre Peugeot to a 3 litre BMW before I go remapping... I just like to plan ahead
