scottj15 Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 Have just purchased a 320d for a longer commute to work. In my old petrol car i always used V Power as it improved performance and had claims to lasting longer.Have noticed theres also a V Power diesel. Is this worth using? Is the price increase worth the saving? Whats peoples opinions on this? Thanks Quote
G4VHD Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 I tried it for a 1000 miles, didn't notice the difference dude Quote
scottj15 Posted July 11, 2012 Author Posted July 11, 2012 thanks for the response man. done some research on other sites too, doesn't seem like its worth it to be honest Quote
Aj93 Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 I use supreme diesel after a service or before a long run and on the odd occasion. I do see a marginal increase in mpg. On a run to the Lake District I averaged 70mpg. I usually average 67-8 when on normal diesel. It's diesel with additives to clean the engine like fuel injectors etc...Not worth using it on a regular basis tho. Quote
peacheyd Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 I use normal diesel (non supermarket) with some additive every few tanks. I used millers additive and notice no real difference but if it keep my injectors clean and lasting longer than i guess the extra few pence per tank is worth it. The V power stuff though is the more expensive option and gives no real results , if your that worried about fuel quality id say go with eh DIY option so much cheaper. Quote
Guest DazH Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Premium fuels and additives increase the octane of the fuel. Unless you have a high compression race engine that requires a later flashpoint during the up-stroke then you DO NOT need these fuels or additives. To use it is to be abused by the world of marketing A few hours infront of google should give the average person a firm understanding of the differencesDaz Quote
