BMW 318i boot locked can’t get into
Good advice from Greydog, but in the latter years I would pay for used parts, ordinary mixing coolant with drinking water, bought used tires, and new when I had to. Keeping up with old cars is a chore. One of these days I will pay $240 for a new HV/AC solenoid. Two 3/4" brass, Hollow L shaped, will do for now. I will also remove the inside of the thermostat moving parts (and keep the rest) in the old cars. My other cars are: '97 Volvo 850 GLT wagon, '95 Volvo 960 wagon, and the newest is a Mercedes 2003 CLK430.- bmw

Access to Battery terminals on BMW 1 Series 2020
Hi, Does any one know how to access the Battery terminals on BMW 1 Series 2020, 118I. The battery is in the engine compartment and the red cap is visable, however I want to connections from the battery terminals? Many thanks. -

Rough idle problem
Hello Dave, Just an update and I think you may be right. Went out and gave it a few revs when cold, nothing. Let it warm up and there was a loud “shoooo”. I’ve attached a photo of where the sound was coming from. Going to get it looked into but do you have any idea of what it could be? First BMW, always had vag cars so engine are a little different to what I’m used to -

Rough idle problem
Hello Dave thanks for your reply, thanks for the reply and it does sound like that could be the problem. I was thinking injector but never pops an engine light up so wasn’t certain. Was serviced 6500 miles ago but was just oil and filters. Going to check later and see if I can see any visible cracks or splits. Got a friend who has a garage and will obd and smoke test it for me.
