Hi Im a new memebr of the owners club having recently taking posetion of a new BMW 1 series 120d.

Very pleased so far and especially the Blue tooth connection to my mobile phone. Ive also just got a new HTC One X which is the latest and greatest android phone from HTC similar to the Galaxy S33 from Samsung.

To get the best out of it I’ve also just bought a Bodit Car kit with a cig lighter to charge the phone, all great apart from one snag.

Id like to enjoy the podcast I download through the car speakers, to do this I need to plug the phone into the USB port under the arm rest, and then struggle to find the songs as the iDrive is not the best to find the required track and a nightmare if you want to fast forward 15mins into a 1 hour podcast as it seems to only skip forward 3 seconds for every 1 second. what id like to do is use the phone itself to select tracks and play them through the car speakers as the phone has a great car app to facilitate this. However you can't connect the MP3 player on the phone through Bluetooth unlike the phone for voice calls.

Rather than charge the phone through the cig lighter I could use the USB port, that would mean having to rewire the cig lighter connector into a USB plug which I don't want to do.

Any ideas, is there a way to turn the USB port into a separate Bluetooth receiver?

      Many thanks for the help I've hot the car booked in for a full health check but it seem that the transfer box oil as not been changed for nearly 3 years so I'm hoing to do that first to see if it helps

      hi , I had very similar problem a while back, and after a lot of testing with vista, it turned out to be a front R/H wheel , speed/wheel sensor. when it all was happing lots of codes were coming up gearbox, diff front and back, transever box,plus many more, didn't look good, but there was one code that repeatedly came up at the top of the list, at this point it was becoming undriveable ,it just didn't seem that a wheel sensor could cause all these codes. So I went got two wheel speed sensor, replaced driver side front, the problem never came back, the sensor controls so many systems ,cleared all codes, happy days, I could have pulled the car apart for nothing, and got nowhere, except an empty wallet. hope this helps you or someone.

      105C thermostat replacement

      As I understand the wiring diagrams and operation Item 9 on the thermostat housing is the sensor which sends its signal to the ECU for interpretation with information from the map sensor. Information from item 12 (1st drawing ) is also used to provide average temp across the cooling system. As far as I am aware the Thermostst is independent of the sensors and operated by expanding wax material internally

      Errr not clear here Donald Plastic "L's" with short rubber hoses ??? Distilled water/Ionised water should only be used in an old style lead acid battery. The Rad and engine coolining system should be filled with the correct coolant mix to prevent cavitation and the danger of freezing in low temps. Coolant should be part of the cars regular maintenance and changed every 3 years or so. At that time all hoses and connectors should be inspected and changed where necessary to keep everything in tip top condition. Changing parts can cause as many problems as you may think your solving
